asked:
"Hey, Channie~ I'm heading out to the convenience store to grab some strawberry milk; do you want a few cartons? I'll bring them back for you if you want!"

answered:

“You’re going now? I’ll come with you then!” Chanhee exclaimed rather excitedly. He was quick to make his way around the counter and immediately latched onto Zelo’s arm with bright smiles and a content look on his face. “We can walk together~ It’d be like a midnight stroll?”

"You’re so cute, Junhongie~" Chanhee laughed and pinched the younger’s cheek. He wasn’t laughing at Zelo, of course; no, not at all, Chanhee was just touched that the other would think of these things at such a tender age. It was really nice of the younger to think of him. Chanhee smiled and leaned up to press a chaste kiss against Zelo’s cheek before pulling back and tangled their fingers together once more.

"But you don’t have to worry; I’m perfectly capable like you said. It’ll take more than just a few hits to bring me down~ and besides, I’ll have you to protect me, right?" And once again, the two were down on their way to their destination of yummy goods and drinks. Chanhee leaned against Zelo’s arm and hooked his arm around the other’s, fingers still laced. "I think we’ll be fine as long as we stay together…"

Ah, yes… When Chanhee put it that way, maybe it was better that the elder went into battle with him… Had anyone told him that a month prior, he would’ve laughed in their face, punched it thereafter, and then sneered at their pathetic state. But it made sense, sort of. Even if Chanhee didn’t go into battle with him, there was a chance that while Zelo was away, danger would go directly to Chanhee. That thought scared Zelo in more ways that one. He couldn’t fathom what he would’ve felt if that happened. He didn’t think he could stand Chanhee’s scared and helpless features if that ever happened. Shivers ran down his spine as he quickly shook those unwanted thoughts away.

He cast the elder a small smile, fingers untangling themselves from Chanhee’s and wrapped his arm around and across the brunet’s petite shoulders instead. He brought Chanhee close to his body as the two walked on.

“Yeah… I’ll be able to look after you that way… And make sure you stay out of trouble in the meantime,” he teased, smiling from ear to ear. But yes, he’d probably be able to protect Chanhee better this way. It was ironic but hey, whatever worked.
